I welcome guest blogger, Sarah Shaffer who serves as the Executive Director of Wenatchee Outdoors. Be sure to read her bio and see her photo at the end of her piece. All photos have been provided by Wenatchee Outdoors.
What is Wenatchee Outdoors? Our organization is a non-profit 501(c)3 agency focused on being a community hub for local non-profits and businesses related to nature and outdoor recreation. We help you save time to find the trail you are looking for whether that be for mountain biking, hiking, trail running and many more outdoor human powered sports. We have over 700 guidebook posts which you can filter based on ability level, family friendly, dog friendly, handicap accessible and by location.
We have an outdoor calendar and have written hundreds of articles to educate and inspire you to get outdoors. We are the advocates at community meetings for human-powered sports and for nature conservation. Our main goal, to connect people with nature.
Are you retired and looking for ways to help others or are you someone who has little bits of time that you can share with our organization? We have all sorts of fun and creative ways to volunteer!
Below are various ways in which folks could volunteer for Wenatchee Outdoors. Some are easy-peasy at home tasks, others are more involved. Some allow you to volunteer at a micro-level (for example sharing your outdoor photos with us by phone, quick and simple takes 2 minutes of your time, or if you want to be more involved you could help us write grants). Please send Sarah an email at sarah@wenatcheeoutdoors.org if you would like to help out and what task(s) you would like to assist with.
